When Scouts from Troop 742 came to Grachur the weather could not have been more perfect—about 50-60 degrees and sunny.

Camp Woodlands, a 34-acre Girl Scouts camp, located on Broad Creek was our weekend home. After breakfast on Saturday morning we toured the US Naval Academy. Because we spent Saturday walking in the snow, a winterized lodge and heated floors were just what we needed. Seeing and learning about the rich history of the Naval Academy is something the troop will never forget. Consequently, this trip will certainly go back on our calendar in a future year. Troop 742’s November camping trip included Scout advancement, catapulting pumpkins, and eating turkey from trashcans.
There was a little frost, a little rain, and a lot of wind but there was much fun and learning when we camped in Parkton, MD.

On Troop 742’s October camping trip, there were 13 Trails, 29 zip lines, 6 difficulty levels, and almost 200 challenge bridges. It’s safe to say the troop got its workout in! We had a great time at Sandy Spring Adventure Park.
